Ninglashaini Bhagwati Temple, Dasharathchand, Baitadi

   The  Ninglashaini Bhagwati Temple , located in  Dasharathchand Municipality, Baitadi District , holds great  religious and mythological significance . This temple is considered one of the  most sacred Hindu temples  in the  Sudurpaschim Province of Nepal . Every year, during the  Maha Ashtami  festival, a grand  jatra (religious fair)  is held at the temple, where  goats and he buffaloes are sacrificed  as offerings to the goddess. It is a tradition to bring  sacrificial animals  to the temple on the  Saptami (seventh day)  of  Dashain , and on  Maha Ashtami (eighth day) , the sacrifices take place as part of the ritual. ‎पहाडको काखमा बसेको सानो गाउँ “भीरगाउँ” मा एउटा कठोर र डरलाग्दो परम्परा थियो। गाउँको छेउमा बग्ने ठूलो खोल्साको किनारमा एक भयानक राक्षस बस्थ्यो। धेरै कुरुर र निर्दयी राक्षस जसले प्रत्येक वर्ष गाउँ बाट एक जनाको बली नदिइए पानी सुकाइ दिन्थियो जसका कारण खेतहरु बाँझा हुन्थिए र रोग फैलिन्थे । नचाहेर पनि गाउँ हरु ले एक वर्ष मा एक जना को बलि दिनुपर्ने कठोर परम्परा मन्न बाध्य थिए । ‎त्यसैले हरेक वर्ष गाउँमा एक परिवारको पालो आउँथ्यो। जसको पालो पर्थ्यो, उसैले आफ्नो परिवारबाट एक जनालाई बलीका लागि पठाउनुपर्थ्यो। ‎त्यही गाउँमा शंकर नामको एक साहसी युवक बस्थ्यो। ऊ सिकार गरेर परिवार चलाउँथ्यो। उसको घरमा आमा–बुवा र उसकी अति प्रिय, अत्यन्तै सुन्दरी श्रीमती बस्थिन्— कुसुम। कुसुमका कपाल यति लामो थिए कि भुइँमा झर्थे।उनी केवल सुन्दरी मात्र नभई, मायालु र कर्तव्यनिष्ठ पनि थिइन्। ‎प्रत्येक साँझ शंकर सिकारबाट फर्किंदा कुसुम घरको ढोकामा पर्खेर बस्थिन्। बाहिर आएर मायालु बनि पानीले शंकरका हात–खुट्टा धोइदिन्थिन् र मुस्कुराउँदै भित्र ल्याएर खाना खुवाउँथिन्। तर यो वर्षको बलीको पालो शंकरको परिवारमा परेको थियो… ‎ ...
